Where is Sheffield?

Sheffield is the 5th largest city in the UK, boasting more than half a million people. It is a hidden gem, geographically situated in the middle of the Britain, with good transport connections to the rest of the country.

The name of the city derives from the River Sheaf, which runs through it. Sheffield is also known as the Steel City, due to the many steelworks that used to be based here. Having the Peak District on its doorstep makes it the only UK city with a National Park within its boundary.

With an estimated 4.5 million trees, it has more trees per person than any other city in Europe. Its more than 250 public green spaces means Sheffield remains one of the greenest cities in the country. But the best thing about this place by far, is its friendly, welcoming people and the strong community spirit.
